This week we previewed the upcoming Queen’s Birthday match against Melbourne, where the consensus was that the Magpies would win by a considerable and healthy margin. We also heard from many of our regular callers including Louie, Giller, the Turtle, Trevor Monty, Spaz and more. We also heard from Bob Dunn, a former runner for Collingwood of some 30 years.
Joffa also spoke about a move by Victoria Police, Melbourne City Council and Etihad Stadium to stop the Footy Buskers from playing on the footbridge leading to the stadium. Help the guys out and head to http://www.savethebuskers.com/ for more information.
The Desert Spirit Cup (the curtain raiser match to the Collingwood V Port Adelaide game) arranged by the coterie group the Collingwood Industrial Magpies was also discussed. The event saw two indigenous teams, the Yuendumu Magpies from the Northern Territory take on an all-star team from the South Australian desert. A function was also held at the Lexus Centre the Friday beforehand to welcome the teams to Melbourne. A great night was had by all.
